How do I apply for a vacancy?
We are glad to hear you're interested in running a pub. We have a number of pubs on a variety of agreements to suit your needs. Do I need a personal license to take an agreement?
Yes, you will need to obtain a personal license to take on a Star Pubs agreement if you do not have one already. The application is not something we arrange for you, but you can find all the information you need on the government's website here.
Do you offer training to your licensees?
We offer a one-week course for all licensees, from first-time to experienced entrepreneurs. It's built around your business plan and ideas and ensures you have the knowledge to put your plan into practice. The course is run virtually, which keeps it affordable and means you can join from anywhere in the country. Alongside the training sessions, you'll also receive a one-year online Star Pubs e-learning, membership of the BII, plus access to one-day workshops and webinars run throughout the year. These cover subjects such as social media, cellar management, beer quality and planning for success.
Do you have any freehold pubs?
We are not planning to sell any pubs currently. Please visit www.starpubs.co.uk if you are interested in leasing a pub from us.
I've already had a tenancy, do I have to reapply?
Yes, you will need to reapply. This ensures your application is captured on our system and that we have your up-to-date details so we can communicate and update you on your application process. Please visit www.starpubs.co.uk to apply.
How much will it cost me?
We have a number of different pubs on a variety of agreements to suit your needs. Each will have a different start-up cost. All the financial details can be found on the individual pub listings https://www.starpubs.co.uk/find-your-pub.
Can I apply for bar work with you?
Each pub is operated as their own independent business, we therefore don't get directly involved in the recruitment for each pub. Please contact your local Star Pubs directly.
Can I manage a pub instead of a lease?
We do not offer management positions where you are employed by us, but we do offer a Management Agreement. Just Add Talent is our management agreement, where we provide the menus, the fantastic brands and cover many of your pub running costs, including utilities, business rates and marketing.
This gives you time to concentrate on the important stuff - executing a superb retail offer and employing and managing your staff.

Do you pay for my accommodation?
Many of our pubs come with private accommodation. If this is the case in your pub, you and your family can use the accommodation rent free.
You will be responsible for insuring your possessions, council tax and your TV license
